MODERN FUNERALS

We are here to listen to your needs and to work with you to create a funeral that you feel is right. Not everyone is comfortable with the thought of a 30 minute time slot at a crematorium. Over the last few years we have found some wonderful local venues that provide beautiful environments for full funeral services.  You can opt for a completely relaxed feel, or stick to the more traditional formal format, just in a different setting.  Either way, we find it makes a huge difference to families to have more time and space to celebrate the life and love of the person they have lost.  It can also be easier to involve children at these type of venues.

We work hard to keep prices in line with our more traditional services and they tend to be a similar price to a crematorium service with an extended service.

We are also happy to create ceremonies at venues that you know and love, or outdoor spaces.

Examples of some of the venues we use are shown below.

You can also create your own personal touches

Create

We can help you create a beautiful and more personal event. Depending on whether or not you want the coffin present there are many alternatives to churches and crematoria. A private piece of land, a favourite pub, restaurant or other venue, a beach or even a woodland are some of the options.

Participate

Getting people involved and participating in the ceremony will always enhance it and make it more personal. Some families have built the whole service around inviting people to simply get up and speak from the heart about the person who has died.

Congregate

Getting together with friends and family of the person you have lost is a healing experience in itself, whether at the time of the actual funeral service or not. A gathering could also replace a traditional funeral service altogether, particularly if there are frictions within different groups.

Do It Yourself

We can organise a private cremation first – you can then take the ashes and hold any type of event you wish in your own time, without having to pay anyone to do this for you.

We could never have wished for anyone more perfect to help us plan John’s farewell. Under impossible circumstances, it’s been a pleasure meeting you. Your incredible warmth and support has made this time as easy as we believe it could have been . A big thank you to all of you.

Sue

Our heartfelt and sincere thanks go to our and your team for such a lovely celebration of the life of Malcolm. It was absolutely perfect and we could not have hoped for a better send off for a man who has inspired many and of whom we are immensely proud. The flowers were stunning and all your hard work in making everything happen like clockwork will always be remembered. With our best wishes to you and your team of ‘gems’.

Sue & David

Bereavement is a difficult and stressful time, but from our first meeting we were cared for in a compassionate way and given time to consider our wishes with no pressure. Sam was caring and reassuring, completely putting our minds at rest over every little detail. Albany provided an excellent service from the start. The team were friendly, respectful and nothing was too much trouble. I would have no hesitation in recommending them!
