Our simple funerals

These more simple options offer excellent ways of having a ceremony in a place that is personal to you, with the added benefit of being more affordable.

In most cases the cremation takes place unattended in the early morning, enabling a later gathering or celebration of life event to be held at a special or more convenient place, without a coffin present. You could choose a familiar pub or club, a country park, beach or picnic area, or even hold the event at home.

The possibilities are endless… You can opt to include the ashes of your person in the ceremony or not, or alternatively, you could hold a small service in our chapel with the coffin present, and the unattended cremation would follow afterwards. We can organise this with you or help you to do this yourself – we are always here if you need any advice.

Personal, creative and unique

No coffin present

You can have a beautiful funeral service without a coffin present. An ashes urn or casket can replace the coffin as a focal point, thus opening up endless possibilities of where and when the service can be held. We work with good local venues and can help you organise this. Also, the presence of a coffin can be difficult for some.

Some of the funerals we have organised have been in parks, on beaches, in fields, or venues which wouldn’t normally permit a funeral with a coffin.

This usually costs a lot less than a standard service at the crematorium.

Direct Cremation

A direct cremation means that the coffin is taken to the crematorium solely for the purpose of the cremation and no service is held there. This reduces the cremation fee dramatically, but doesn’t mean that a service cannot be held elsewhere, or follow a different format, before or after the cremation has taken place. We would be very happy to advise you by discussing the many options available to help you hold a meaningful ceremony.

Price includes all our fees, cremation fees, doctors fees and a simple veneer coffin. We offer the same care of the body and support for family and friends as with our traditional funerals. Please be wary of some big companies offering direct cremations at cut prices as they operate on a huge scale and therefore cannot offer the same type of care.

Please note that if you wish to specify the crematorium we use, we might have to adjust the price accordingly as the fee varies hugely from crematorium to crematorium.

Small service at our premises

This is perfect for families wanting a more intimate ceremony. The cremation then takes place, either later that day, or the next morning unattended. The chapel can be set up formally or informally and the coffin can be present or not. These small services can only cater for up to 10 attendees.

Please note that at very busy times, we may not be able to accommodate this option.

£3,100 all inclusive
Price includes all our fees, cremation fees, a simple veneer coffin, and celebrant fees. Also much more affordable than a simple service at the crematorium no limited ‘time slot’.

Do It Yourself

You don’t have to use a funeral director to have a funeral, we are happy to support you as much or as little as you want for the arrangements. This might be from decorating or making the coffin, to taking control of the whole process.

We could never have wished for anyone more perfect to help us plan John’s farewell. Under impossible circumstances, it’s been a pleasure meeting you. Your incredible warmth and support has made this time as easy as we believe it could have been . A big thank you to all of you.
