This is a lovely article showing that the clergy are also adapting positively and creatively to this terrible situation. We need to change our rituals to stay safe but this doesn’t necessarily mean that they are any less healing. Those who are willing to accept some changes are able to continue to hold truly personal and meaningful funeral ceremonies. We are working with each family individually to find new ways of doing things to bring them comfort in their unique situation. It can be done ♥️

Grief during coronavirus - lockdown is particularly tough when you're grieving. Being surrounded by family and friends is so vital when you've lost someone you love. Hopefully you are still able to stay connected to others in some way, If you are struggling - some telephone/video grief counselling might help. It's difficult to 'unload' dark feelings onto family and friends, particularly those who might also be grieving, but it does really help to talk.

My thoughts on funerals through coronavirus on NBC. We are often told that we only have once chance to say goodbye to and honour our loved ones.... I think we can look at this differently, and learn to hold rituals in other ways than we are used to, particularly during these times. They can still be healing. ... See MoreSee Less

‘That thing you’re feeling is called grief’...This is one of the wisest things I’ve heard in a while. Thank you Hugh

Earlier this year I had the sadly lost my mum, a close friend recommended Albany funerals.
I can not pass on this recommendation with enough credit, they were very accommodating, and met our every need.
I received numerous comments on how well the service and day proceeded.
I wanted, as anyone would, to give my mum a send off she would appreciate and this company hit the mark in every level.
It’s a sad thought I may have to organise such an occasion again but Albany will be my first port of call, professional, friendly, accommodating to say the least.
    Highly recommend

Jo was such a support. In this unusual time she went over and above in providing everything we wanted to mark the passing of my mother. I am so glad that we choose Albany

What can I say but Thank you to Matthew, Angela and Anisa, for the most amazing care and compassion shown through these difficult few weeks. We chose Albany as they are an ethical company and provide the most first class service. Their care and compassion is second to none.
Nothing was too much problem. And even when I couldn't cope in a difficult situation and needed a chat Angela was there to listen and to chat.
Thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts for the care you've given to Nan/ Mum these last few weeks. We have no hesitation to recommend Albany Funeral service.

I don't know how you could get a better service from anyone quite honestly. And very reasonable costs - you don't feel at all like anyone is taking advantage of you. Really really nice people. Totally recommend 100%.

I simply could not recommend Albany enough, we have just used their services for my beloved Nans funeral and they were so friendly, professional and could not do enough for us to make the day go as smoothly and stress free as possible! I the last 3 months, sadly we have had to call on the services of Albany.
The team are amazing, I think service like this is hard to come by in this modern corporate world. To have this family run business able to provide you with this level of contact and personalisation was a refreshing change.
They where always at the end of the phone to answer questions and explain the processes and legal jargon. I never had to chase them, call backs were never more than a few minutes, with an apology and an explanation at to why the call was not answered immediately.
You get to know all the staff on a first name basis and you can see that it is so important to them you get to send off your loved one in the manor you desired.
I will no doubt be taking them up on there remembrance and celebration events.
Will only use Albany from this point on.

It’s quite hard to put into words how grateful we are to Jo and Albany for how much support they gave to my family and especially my mum after my dad died.
I’m sure we weren’t unusual in wanting something personal and to do our best for Dad and Jo not only juggled all our ideas, but also had some great suggestions herself as she gently guided us through the process, making it as easy as it could be. She brings a huge amount of care, warmth and confidence which in a very tough time, we needed and made us feel very special.
To this day, my mum regularly attends the Albany Coffee Mornings for many of the widows and widowers, so Jo’s generosity and compassion doesn’t just end there…
Totally recommend and will be forever grateful.

We would like to express our thanks and gratitude for the sympathetic and professional way in which you conducted the funeral cremation ceremonies for our Parents during these very difficult and challenging times the country is experiencing at present.
As we know, all families losing loved ones during this pandemic is very difficult - and our losses have been no different - but made somewhat easier because of the way in which your company lightened the impact of losing our Parents in a matter of days of one another.
Once again, please accept our sincere thanks for your kindness, assistance and services - so gratefully received - and we send our kind regards to you all at Albany Funeral Directors.

Bereavement is a difficult and stressful time, but from our first meeting we were cared for in a compassionate way and given time to consider our wishes with no pressure. Sam was caring and reassuring, completely putting our minds at rest over every little detail. Albany provided an excellent service from the start. The team were friendly, respectful and nothing was too much trouble. I would have no hesitation in recommending them!
