Please come and see these lovely helpful ladies at Fremlin Walktomorrow if you need any information on dementia organisations. There will also be a dementia friends session running if you know anyone who might be interested. Also if any business owners or managers are interested in signing up to make their businesses more dementia friendly, I will be there tomorrow afternoon to explain how simple and easy the process is and just how beneficial it can be for people living with dementia. Please get in touch if there's any further information you need. #dementiaawareness #DementiaActionWeek #dementiasupport #maidstonebusiness #maidstone #buildingadementiafriendlymaidstone ... We just love this keepsake jewellery. Hand made with love and care by local young mum of two, Laura from Two Green Lane. We have been working together for years and she really cares! She started off with fingerprint jewellery (which requires us to take fingerprints from your loved one whilst they are with us prior to the funeral), but she also now does some cremation pieces too.#jewellery #memorialjewelry #keepsakes #buylocal #memorialjeweller ... Shout out to Scott from Funeral filming who we’ve been working with a lot over the last year. The live-stream and filming of services has become an integral part of funerals since the beginning of the pandemic. Even at this beautiful venue Kentfield Country Estate, in the middle of nowhere, he was able to stream the funeral to family all over the world. #modernfunerals #funeralfilming #lifeaffirmingfunerals #funeralphotography #funerals #funeralstreaming ... We have held many different remembrance events over the last decade, but this year we felt that we wanted a service, partly because so many people how to go without the one they wanted for their loved one, or because they missed out on the support of friends and family through the pandemic. We wanted to say people’s names out loud. From the overwhelming feedback we’ve received, it was an emotional and uplifting event which was full of love and comfort. We couldn’t ask for more. Heartfelt thanks to Kathryn from Life and Love: Kathryn Sansom, Independent Celebrant and Helen from Fondest Love Ceremonies who worked together to create the most beautiful ceremony. Thanks too to Reverend Andrew Royal for his blessing at the end and to Julia Smith from Heart of Kent Hospice for her talk. We also raised £324 for the Hospice ❤️. #remembering #pandemicgrief #covidgriefjourney #saymyname ... See MoreSee Less

Wise words from The Good Funeral Guide CIC. If you need a funeral director, do not accept anything less than this:"We think that a good funeral director is the kind of person you are drawn to for their warmth and kindness, someone who you can trust with the most precious of tasks; the care of the person who has died. We believe good funeral directors understand that their role is supportive rather than directive and that they are there to help you navigate your way to creating a funeral ceremony that is both meaningful and transformative. A skilled funeral director will spend time asking you about what matters to you and what you want the ceremony to achieve, they will be available to you as the day of the funeral approaches to answer questions and adjust arrangements, and they will be a reassuring, unobtrusive presence when the day arrives. They will also be completely open and transparent with you. If you want to know where your relative will be cared for and how they will be looked after, a good funeral director will have no problem with you looking at their mortuary area and explaining what is normally done once somebody is brought into their care."#goodfunerals #funeraldirector#funeral ... Before the pandemic, live-streams and recordings of funerals were few and far between. Sadly, filming was probably mostly judged to be ‘morbid’, or ‘inappropriate’. During lockdown the ‘zoom revolution’ and the necessity to bring grieving families together in spite of travel restrictions created a boom in webcasts and live-streams, and they have now become an integral part of a ceremony. Over time, it’s become apparent they they also provide another very valuable benefit. Many clients have reported to us the huge comfort they have felt in watching the service back at later date, with the advantage of a clearer head and healing heart. They’ve been able to actually absorb what was said on the day and find great solace in it. If you were unable to have a full funeral for someone you love during the pandemic, you could organise a more inclusive ceremony now around the ashes, or without them. This could be a formal or informal event and we can offer help and advice to anyone that needs it. These can still be healing celebrations of life, and can be held almost anywhere. #modernfunerals #pandemicfunerals #celebrationoflife #scatteringashes #itsnottoolate ... See MoreSee Less
